Goodbye Egypt, hello California
Posted by The Lonely Trader on May 13, 2008
All set to leave tomorrow evening. Looking forward to new faces. I will try to post an update on the model in the meantime, but things have been pretty busy. There have been very few opportunities to trade. It didn’t help that we took a short break in Sharm el Sheikh, but the diving was excellent (per the usual). I am hoping to have the workstation set up by June 1 — and to finally having reliable high speed internet.
It’s always tough to leave new friends behind. Hopefully I will have many opportunities to see them again in the future…in sha’Allah, as they say.
One chapter closes. Another opens.

Hey there,
Where in California will you be re-locating to? I hope the process is smooth and I look forward to your future posts!

I hope the process is smooth too. We’ll be in Carlsbad, most likely.

That’s a nice place, I actually work pretty close to Carlsbad.
Keep up the great posts

Well then beers are in order…or vodka tonics or diet cokes or whatever…

Hope the trip has gone well! Looking forward to you shedding more brilliance once you’re all settled in.
Hopefully that isn’t written such that it looks like I hope you made it to California alive only because I want you to blog more.

Trip has gone well, and got in vacations in Sharm el Sheikh, Marsa Alem, and Laguna Beach.
We’ll be settling into a rented home this next week, for a year or so until we are ready to buy…though we’re not sure if we want to buy in SoCal yet.
As for the brilliance, I’m not sure that’s what I’m shedding…instead of light, certain odors come to mind…or maybe fur, as it’s the summer season here.
I’ll be blogging more over the coming days.

@showdown: About which part? The odors? (Or, odours, as spelled in the UK…why the extra ‘u’?)
